Father / Daughter

Arto Saari and his daughter Ella

“Today is the 4th of July. Another June has gone by… but when they light up the town I just think what a waste of gunpowder and sky.” – Aimee Mann

Jonathan Spooner and I drove to Hollywood today. We stopped and grabbed some food for a BBQ. We met up with Wesley at Arto’s.  It was gorgeous outside. Arto was puttering around with chores and such things. “It’s better doing projects than living in the projects.” We laughed. Arto took his two year old daughter – Ella – around the deep end. She kept saying, “Pool. Pool. Pool.” It made me smile a whole bunch.  I still can’t skate but the crew held it down. There was something super cool about Arto and his daughter just playing together in the pool. I envy him. Children are a gift… Aimee Mann’s lyrics were inappropriate for this holiday.  Today was beautiful for so many reasons. Skate- Ozzie

  1. When I read him this article and showed him the pics, my 4 year old told me we had to drain his uncle’s pool! He’s got his mind working on recon and draining ops already!
