Asphalt

Salba

Salba

The world burns. Life reaches out and touches us with kisses colder than the moon. Feverishly seeking escape, our souls are asleep. We doubt our own happiness. “More!” we cry out. Angels came and found themselves inadequate. We’ve been broken far too badly for far too long. They close bright brilliant eyes and turn their exquisite faces away from us. All the sad songs in the world cannot be as painful to the human heart. “Please don’t go!” Would I reach out to them in their perfection, I would sacrifice all that I ever aspired to be… just to make the world right.

Nothing doing. The world tumbles over itself in a hurry. Running itself at a frenetic pace. Going nowhere. Salvation? Negative. Asphalt ribbons wander over the hillsides. I run along them. Seeking. I’m just like the rest of the world I sometimes abhor.

Finding pools, refuse, human degradation and an occasional glimpse of light, I wander. I work daily at keeping my heart stone-free. Asphalt. Skate- Ozzie
